Seryozha Jilavyan is responsible for the comprehensive management and operations of the nurseries at Armenia Tree Project. He joined the organization in 2020 as the Head of Backyard Nurseries and, since 2024, has also taken on the role of Head of Karin Nursery.
In his position, Seryozha oversees all aspects of nursery operations, from soil preparation and seed propagation to cultivating high-quality seedlings. He coordinates seasonal maintenance activities, including irrigation and ongoing plant care. Throughout the growing season, he supervises the production and diversity of ornamental tree and shrub species, ensuring both quality and productivity.
Prior to his tenure at Armenia Tree Project, Seryozha spent seven years at the Yerevan Botanical Garden, part of the Institute of Botany. He began his career there as a dendrologist engineer and nursery manager, eventually advancing to the role of Chief Agronomist.
Seryozha holds a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, specializing in Crop Selection and Genetics, and a master’s degree in Forestry and Urban Greening, both from the Armenian National Agrarian University.
