Maria Nalbandyan-Joukov

Director of Development

A native of Yerevan, Maria moved to the United States at 10 years old. With a professional background that includes entrepreneurship, enterprise technology sales, and strategic advisory roles, she now leads ATP’s development team, working with individual donors, corporations, and grantmakers to craft sustainable and meaningful contributions for Armenia’s environmental future. Maria joined ATP in 2025, motivated by its very tangible mission of working toward a greener, healthier future for Armenia and the opportunity to contribute to the global climate conversation. 

Maria holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics and Economics from Georgetown University and a Master’s Degree in International Security Studies from National Defense University. She lives in Virginia, USA with her family.

Outside of work, she enjoys running outdoors, traveling, and trying to keep her two large rescue dogs out of trouble.
