Gevorg Zaroyan

Manager of the “Khachpar” Tree Nursery

Gevorg Zaroyan is a botanist at the Armenia Tree Project, where he has been working since 2019 in ATP’s nurseries and backyard nursery programs. In his role, he supports the organization and implementation of nursery operations, including soil cultivation, plant propagation, seedling care, and other activities essential to the successful functioning of the nurseries. He also participates in research and experimental projects, contributes to environmental education initiatives for students, and regularly introduces ATP’s programs and nurseries to visitors and donors.

Before joining ATP, Gevorg worked at the Institute of Botany NAS RA after A. Takhtajan as an engineer dendrologist in the Department of Introduction Plants from 2015 to 2019. During this time, he conducted research on plant diversity and ecology, studied the interaction between plants and different environments, and participated in both laboratory and field research expeditions. His work also included the classification and study of plant species, experiments related to plant growth and oxygenation patterns, as well as practical forestry activities such as coppicing.

Throughout his career, Gevorg has continuously expanded his professional knowledge through participation in international conferences, workshops, and training programs.
